Terms of service
Last updated 13 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Robin Maurya, who runs Switchyard. They apply when you use the website, the builder, the marketplace, our APIs or our tools. By creating an account, or by using Switchyard without one, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Switchyard.
1. Who we are
Switchyard is run by Robin Maurya, based in India (“we”, “us”). Write to us at robinmaurya619@gmail.com. These terms are an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000, and need no signature.
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 18 years old and able to make a binding contract under Indian law. If you use Switchyard for an organisation, you confirm you may accept these terms for it, and “you” includes it.
3. Your account
Some features need an account. Give us a real email address, keep access to it secure, and don’t share your account. You are responsible for what is done with it. Tell us straight away at robinmaurya619@gmail.com if you think someone else has used it.
4. What the service does
Switchyard lets you build and run modules: workflows that send your text to a System One model and collect its answers. The builder runs in your browser. You choose the model and its provider, and you use your own key for that provider, or a model running on your own computer or server. Some features run on our servers: saving modules online, share links, the marketplace, the Run API, and keeping a module running in the cloud.
Features marked Beta, preview or experimental may change, stop or have bugs. We may add, change or remove features. If we remove a paid feature you rely on, we’ll tell you first, and you can cancel and ask for a refund of the unused part.
5. Model providers and your keys
Models are provided by third parties under their own terms and prices. You pay them directly; we don’t sell or resell model access. You must follow your provider’s terms. We aren’t responsible for a provider’s service, availability, prices or answers. Switchyard is an independent product: it isn’t made, endorsed or sponsored by the makers of System One models or by any model provider, and their names and trademarks belong to them.
Your keys stay in your browser and are sent only with the requests that need them, directly or through our relay, which keeps nothing. If you choose to keep a module running in the cloud, you hand us that module’s keys, which we keep encrypted and use only to run it.
6. Answers from models: use them with care
A model’s answers are predictions. They can be wrong, biased or out of date, and the same input can get a different answer. A score or probability is the model’s estimate, not a guarantee. We don’t promise that any model or module will be accurate or fit for your purpose.
You decide how answers are used, and you are responsible for that. Keep a person in charge of any decision that significantly affects someone, such as about their job, credit, insurance, housing, education, health, legal rights or access to a service. Don’t rely on Switchyard for emergencies, or in place of professional medical, legal, financial or safety advice. Modules for health, legal, finance or hiring help people sort and flag; they don’t diagnose, advise or decide.
7. Your content and the data in it
Your modules, files, inputs and results (“your content”) are yours. You give us permission to store, copy, process and show your content only as needed to provide Switchyard to you and to the people you share it with. We never use your content to train or tune any model, and we never sell it.
If your content includes other people’s personal data, you decide why and how it is processed, so you are its “Data Fiduciary” under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and we process it for you as your “Data Processor” when it passes through or is kept on our servers. You confirm you have the right to process it, including any notice or consent the law requires. Don’t put passwords, card numbers, or health, biometric or other sensitive data into modules unless you need to and the law allows it. Businesses that need a data processing agreement can ask us for one.
Our privacy policy explains what we keep about you.
8. What you must not do
Don’t use Switchyard to create, upload, publish, share, store or send anything that:
- belongs to someone else and you have no right to use;
- is obscene, pornographic, paedophilic, or invades someone’s privacy, including bodily privacy;
- insults or harasses anyone on the basis of gender, or is racially or ethnically objectionable;
- relates to or encourages money laundering, gambling or betting, or real-money games;
- harms children;
- infringes a patent, trademark, copyright or other proprietary right;
- deceives or misleads about where it came from, or knowingly spreads false or misleading information;
- impersonates someone;
- threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, its friendly relations with other countries, or public order, or incites an offence or prevents its investigation;
- contains viruses or other code meant to damage or interfere with any computer or data;
- breaks any law in force.
And don’t:
- attack, overload, scan or probe Switchyard or any service through it, or get around its limits, the human check or its security;
- copy the marketplace in bulk, or scrape it with scripts or AI tools;
- use Switchyard for spam, for unlawful surveillance or profiling, or to discriminate unlawfully;
- break a model provider’s rules, or share keys or access tokens you aren’t allowed to share;
- resell Switchyard itself, or copy it to build a competing service, except as the law allows.
If you break these rules we may remove the content, suspend or close your account, and report it to the authorities where the law requires. We remind account holders of these rules at least once a year.
9. The marketplace
Publishing. When you publish a module, you confirm you have the right to share everything in it, and that its title, description and samples are accurate. You choose its licence, which governs how others may use it. You also give us a worldwide, free, non-exclusive licence to host, copy, check, show, preview and distribute it in the marketplace, for as long as it is listed. Don’t put keys or personal data in a module you publish.
Our checks. We check published modules automatically, and a person may review them. We may hold, change the listing details of, or remove any listing that breaks these terms or the law, or that puts users at risk. We don’t check every module fully, and passing our checks doesn’t mean a module is safe or accurate.
Using others’ modules. Modules are made by their publishers, not by us, unless marked as made by Switchyard. Read a module and its code before you approve and run it. Its publisher is responsible for it, under its licence.
Ratings and reviews. Only rate modules you have used. Don’t post fake or paid-for reviews, or reviews of your own modules.
Our role. For content users publish, we are an intermediary under the Information Technology Act, 2000. We act on complaints and lawful orders as section 12 explains.
10. Pro, payments and Paddle
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. When you buy, you also agree to Paddle’s buyer terms, shown at checkout.
Pro is a subscription that renews automatically each month or year until you cancel. Prices are on the pricing page, with taxes shown at checkout. You can cancel at any time from Account → Manage subscription, in as few steps as you took to subscribe, with no cancellation fee. Pro then lasts until the end of the period you paid for. Refunds follow our refund policy: 14 days, no questions asked.
We’ll tell subscribers at least 30 days before a price rise applies to them; they can cancel before it does. If a payment fails, Pro may pause until it’s paid. Teams and Enterprise plans are agreed with us in writing, and those agreements come first where they differ from these terms.
11. Free plan, fair use and limits
The Free plan and Pro have the limits shown in the app and on the pricing page. We may change limits to keep Switchyard working for everyone; we’ll give notice before reducing what a paid plan includes. Unusual use that harms the service or other users may be slowed or paused while we talk to you.
12. Complaints, takedowns and lawful requests
You can report a module or a share link with its Report button, or write to our grievance officer (details below). Tell us what the content is, where it is, and why it should come down. For a copyright complaint, also show that you own the right, as the Copyright Act, 1957 and its rules ask.
We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and resolve them within 15 days. Complaints about content showing someone’s private area or sexual act, or impersonating them, we act on within 24 hours. Complaints from customers about our service we acknowledge within 48 hours and resolve within one month, with a reference number you can follow. When we remove content, we tell its publisher where we can, keep a record of it for 180 days (longer if a court or authority asks), and act on lawful orders within the time the law sets.
We close the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe others’ rights.

13. Teams and Enterprise
A team’s owner is responsible for the team, its members and its seats. Owners and admins can see the team’s activity log. When a member leaves, modules they saved to the team library stay with the team.
14. APIs, access tokens and tools
Keep access tokens secret, and revoke any that leak. Calls through the Run API count toward your plan’s allowance. Our command-line tool, MCP server, n8n node and code library are open source under the MIT licence, which governs them; using them with our service is subject to these terms.
15. Our rights
Switchyard, its software, design, name and logo belong to us or our licensors, apart from your content and modules others publish. These terms don’t give you any right to them except to use Switchyard as these terms allow. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them freely without paying you.
16. Other services
Switchyard works with services run by others: model providers, Paddle, sign-in with Google, GitHub or your company, Cloudflare’s human check, and any API a module calls. Their terms and privacy policies apply to them, and we aren’t responsible for them.
17. Ending your use
You can stop at any time. To close your account and delete what we keep, write to robinmaurya619@gmail.com. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts others at risk, or that the law requires us to act on. Where we can, we’ll tell you why first and give you a chance to put it right.
When an account closes, you have 30 days to download your modules saved online, unless the law stops us. After that we delete them as our privacy policy says. Sections 6, 7, 9 (for modules already shared), 15 and 18 to 22 continue after the account closes.
18. No warranty
We work to keep Switchyard running and secure, but we provide it “as is” and “as available”, without promising it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. This doesn’t take away any right the law gives you that can’t be excluded, including your rights as a consumer.
19. Limits on our liability
As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue, business, data or goodwill, arising from Switchyard, a model’s answers, or decisions you make with them. Our total liability for all claims is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, and ₹5,000.
These limits don’t apply to liability that can’t be limited by law, such as for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
20. If someone claims against us because of you
If a third party makes a claim against us because of your content, a module you published, or your breaking these terms or the law, you will cover our reasonable losses and costs from that claim. We’ll tell you about the claim promptly and let you take part in the defence.
21. Events beyond our control
We aren’t responsible for delays or failures caused by events we can’t reasonably control, such as outages at our hosting or model providers, natural disasters, war, government action or widespread internet failures.
22. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. If something goes wrong, please write to our grievance officer first; most problems are settled that way. If a dispute isn’t settled within 30 days, the courts of the city where the operator is based (to be added before launch) have exclusive jurisdiction. This doesn’t take away your right to go to a Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, or any right your own country’s consumer law gives you.
23. Changes to these terms, and the rest
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. For changes that matter, we’ll tell account holders by email or in the app at least 15 days before they apply, unless the law needs a change sooner. If you keep using Switchyard after that, the new terms apply; if you don’t agree, you can stop and close your account.
These terms, with the privacy policy, the refund policy and any written plan agreement, are the whole agreement between you and us. If a court finds part of them unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce a right straight away, we don’t give it up. You may not transfer these terms without our written consent. We may transfer them to whoever takes over Switchyard, without reducing your rights. We send notices to your account’s email address; you send them to robinmaurya619@gmail.com. If these terms are translated, the English version applies.
